1. Inpack the Gorilych rectifier and remove all packaging materials.
2. Remove residual pre-treatment marks with water and detergent and rinse with clean water.
3. After filling the distillation cube with a small amount of pure water, collect the Gorilych rectifier and boil for 30 minutes. Dismantle the rectifier, drain the remaining water from the distillation cube and distillation unit.
Distillation
For distillation, collect the rectifier in the following configuration:
1. Short tsar 0.5 meters. It is possible not to use the drawer at all, and to install the head of the column immediately onto the cube. It is recommended to use a short drawer to protect the coils of the Dimroth refrigerator in the reflux condenser from pollution in the event of splashing mud. The drawbridge is used without filler.
2. The distillation occurs during the selection by liquid, ie steam tap closed, needle tap open

The sequence of actions during distillation:
• Enable maximum cube heating. When the cube temperature reaches 80 degrees (the approximate value depends on the alcoholicity of the mash), turn on the water supply to the cooling system.
• Upon reaching the boiling temperature of the mash from the aftercooler, the selection of SS begins.
• 2-3% of “goals” are selected from the calculation for absolute alcohol.
• Switch selection to main tank
• Lead the selection of SS to “water”, ie to a temperature in the cube of 100 degrees Celsius, or by measuring with a hydrometer the strength of the SS at the outlet of the aftercooler.
Rectification process
Collect a distillation column with dimrot in the configuration to obtain the maximum alcohol purification (two half-shells 0.5 m with a full packing of both half-cups with a nozzle) or to obtain noble distillates (two half-cups 0.5 m with one half-cup packing of 50 cm). In this process, it makes sense to control the temperature in the cube and in the drawer (1/3 of the selection unit). Pour in crude alcohol and start heating. Set the heating power to maximum. The strength of the SS in the cube is recommended about 40%. A smaller fortress will necessitate the heating of more liquid and, consequently, the waste of more electricity and water for refrigerators. Moreover, the smaller strength of the SS does not lead to any advantages. The large SS fortress makes the distillation column difficult to work because at a fortress of more than 40%, azeotropes are formed, the separation of which is difficult to cope with in the normal rectification mode. Therefore, we degrade the quality of the final product. The search for the optimal operating mode of the column is as follows (it is performed once for each use case of the column - alcohol and noble distillates):
• Ensure that the fluid needle valve and the steam ball valve are closed.
• When the temperature reaches about 83 degrees Celsius, turn on the water supply to the cooling system.
• When misting the phlegm return tube, reduce the heating power to 1 kW
• The appearance of phlegm in the return tube means that you have entered rectification mode
• Adjust the water supply by rotating the needle valve at the inlet to the cooling system. Achieve water temperature at the outlet of the reflux condenser at 55 degrees Celsius
• Gradually increase the heating power and water supply to the cooling system. After each increase in heating power, allow the column to stabilize for one to two minutes.
• The goal is to find the power at which the choking of the column will begin. Column choking can be determined by the gurgling sound from the drawbridge, or by flooding the phlegm return tube.
• Reduce the power regulator by 5–7% from the power at which the column is flooded and obtain the desired optimum operating heating power.
Operation in rectification mode
• Put the column into operation
• Allow the column to stabilize for ten minutes. This stage is important not from the point of view of stabilization of the rectification process, but from the point of view of aligning fractions in the column head. No need to rush at this stage. To start effective separation, time is required for the initial heat and mass transfer.
• Next, open the needle tap on the fluid. Adjust the sampling rate to approximately one drop per second, or 200 ml per hour.
• Select “heads” in a volume of 10% of the absolute alcohol volume in the case of a maximum purification alcohol configuration. For noble distillates, select “heads” in a volume of about 6-7% and then select another 5% in separate containers for subsequent organoleptic analysis
• After selecting the heads, close the needle valve. Fix the temperature in the casing of the column. It will be needed in the future.
• Open the steam extraction ball valve. The steam selection rate depends on a number of factors; their detailed analysis is beyond the scope of this manual. The initial recommendation is as follows - initial flow rate settings - 1.2 liters per hour. The sampling speed can be determined using a measuring cylinder and a stopwatch. The main idea of determining the maximum sampling rate is that the temperature sensor in the column base should not change the readings upwards. If the sensor readings began to creep up, then the selection is too large and the rectification process is collapsing.
• When the temperature in the cube reaches 93 degrees, the selection should be reduced to 400 ml per hour.
• The selection is made until the temperature in the drawer changes by 0.1-1.5 degrees. For neutral alcohol, turn off the distillation cube heating at this moment and complete the operation. For noble distillates, substitute 30-40 ml jars for the exit of the aftercooler to collect pre-tail fractions and take another volume of alcohol in the equivalent of 2% absolute alcohol or about 10-15 minutes in time.
• Turn off the heat
• After cooling, disassemble the distillation column with dimrot and rinse the nodes of the column with warm water pressure
• For noble distillates the next day, dilute a few drops from each jar with headrests and pre-tail fractions with warm water to a fortress of 20 degrees and sniff. Pour smelling fractions into the finished product, pour fractions with an unnatural and unpleasant odor from the sewer, or use them for household needs (making a fire, for example).
